On May 2nd, we invited the village that has supported single moms shattering statistics to come and celebrate and support moms making a difference.
There were so many special moments to mention & so many people who were a part of this celebration. Here’s just a few of our favorites with photos from Sara Kristen Photography:
We began the evening with an music, mingling, MOCtails and a silent auction. Thanks to all of the donors who contributed so many great items! Hats off to Tracy Thomas and Cayleigh Alston for gathering the gifts. Meanwhile moms were getting pampered by Jamie Keenan and team in preparation for our first Fashion Show.
Scholar Moms were celebrated for growing stronger through another year. Thanks to Pretty Pixels for helping them look so lovely in your fabulous frocks!
We recognized 3 mentors with the Woman of Wisdom award. Julie Baumgardner, Beth Bragg Henon and Sandra Gober were honored for pouring wisdom, encouragement and truth into countless women-including our leader-leaving a lasting legacy by stewarding their stories.
Jennifer Head was honored with our first Peer on Mission award for going beyond friendship and being an intentional sister who served Alia, a single mom in her class as well as being involved in helping with meals and other service needs within The MOMentum Network.
We concluded the evening by celebrating 6 graduates. Their children presented them with a Mother’s Day treat they made and one of the older kids shared his sweet sentiments about his strong mama.
GATHER wouldn’t be complete without inviting the community to continue joining us. Mike & Julia Kurschner, of Stories Marketing shared why they give time, talent and treasure to make sure that every mom who has an unplanned pregnancy or loss of a partner can keep moving forward to make the most of their challenges.
